Meet the Host

Lynette Mercer

Lynette Mercer is an alumna of both Mount Royal College and Mount Royal University. Lynette has a diploma in Sports Administration and graduated in spring 2020 with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. Her current role is Administrative Assistant in Career Services working with co-op business students.

Lynette has worked in multiple sectors from oil and gas to post-secondary. Lynette knows the importance of resiliency from moving multiple times across the country to deciding to finish her degree in her forties. She advocates for being open-minded and adaptable as one moves forward.

Elaine Balych

With 15+ years of expertise in career development Elaine Balych is an established career and employment coach, facilitator and presenter who takes a pragmatic approach to demystify career development and empower clients to take concrete steps towards their career goals. She has worked with thousands of clients across sectors, industries, and achievement levels using practices informed by industry experience in finance, sales, marketing, arts, culture, and entrepreneurial ventures. Specializing in launching and revitalizing careers, Elaine helps clients clarify and align their talents to current interests, present themselves professionally in writing or in person and take clear, realistic steps to recognize and create new opportunities.


Ana Waechter

Ana has over 12 years of combined business experience in oil and gas, finance and chemicals manufacturing. She has a background in Applied Policy Studies from Mount Royal University, coupled with over seven years of data and business analysis experience. Ana is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and specializes in data analysis and application design, driving data effectiveness as part of large enterprise projects. Ana collaborates between technical experts and business leaders to guide data attributes analysis and business process modeling, helping leaders evaluate and implement the best business solutions.
