In the business of helping others

PR alumna is making a career out of empowering those around her

By Geoff Crane

Natasha Russell, Bachelor of Communications — Public Relations, 2012

In 2017 Natasha B. Russell founded her business NBR Strategic Solutions, wanting to make a positive impact and be a resource for those she saw struggling amid a prolonged economic downturn.

“Knowing that what I’m doing is serving a purpose and helping others to push forward is one of the most rewarding parts of NBR,” says Russell.

Russell is an alumna of Mount Royal University’s public relations program with over 17 years of corporate communications experience. She also holds multiple internationally recognized certifications in coaching and communications and is a certified public speaker.

An acronym of Russell’s initials, NBR Strategic Solutions works extensively with entrepreneurs, organizations and corporations, helping them to create effective strategies to achieve their goals and dreams, not only in business but in their personal life too.

When Russell boils down the motivation that drives her business, it is simple – to empower people, help them find their confidence and discover their purpose to make the world better.

“People will be better to each other because they are better to themselves. That’s really what I’m advocating for,” says Russell.“It’s such a great feeling helping corporate and non-profit organizations gain clarity by supporting their strategic direction and development,” she adds.

Russell also pays it forward in other ways. She joined the MRU Alumni Council in November 2020, and her business is a proud supporter of Kids Help Phone.
